Sabudana Thalipeeth (Pearl Tapioca & Potato Pancake)

There are 5 Navratri but commonly 2 Navratri are celebrated. Chaitra Navtarti is the very first one. Chaitra Navratri, also known as Ram Navratri, Vasant navratri and some people(like me) also refer it as Spring Navratras. There is a popular belief that the fasting during Chaitra Navratri is to prepare the body for the ensuing summer season. In these 9 days of carnival, nine forms of Durga Maa are worshiped. Whatever form anyone worship, whatever ritual anyone follows, the ultimate goal is to seek blessing and pay reverence to Maa Durga. During these 9 days of fasing, devotees follow strick vegetarian diet and consume Phalahari food. Whenever we have a fasting day coming up, the most commonly used ingredients is Sabudana or Sago Pearls or Pearl Tapioca. Why not try my following recipe,"Sabudana Thalipeeth" this Chaitra Navratri and make it a healthy and happy Navratri.!! Jai Mata Di!

Pomegranate Pick Me Up

Wishing you a Glorious Navratri to all!

'તારા  વીના શ્યામ મને એકલુ રે લાગે, Pomegrante Pick Me Up પીવા ને વહેલો આવજે '
Today's Navratri special is the most favorite smoothie in my family. Me and my family love this smoothie from Jamba juice. It's like whenever we see Jamba Juice anywhere, our car goes to it's parking lot by itself..:) no seriously! Nothing is better than Pomegranate Pick Me Up from Jamba Juice.  Basically it's  a inspired recipe from Jamba Juice, but of course I added my magically secret ingredients in it. I tried it at home with some my favorite ingredients and it came out amazingly great. So I thought to share with you and boost your energy for this Navratra with this amazingly great smoothie, "Pomegranate Pick Me Up." Navratri is a period of fasting. Some people fast all the nine days and some only for some days. During the fasting period, people make various dishes which follow the strictures laid down as to what kind of foods can be consumed and what not. The diet is strictly vegetarian and based on only fruits, juices, milk, potato and some other root vegetables.
Even though it is a period of fasting there is fantastic array of sweets and other foods that one can enjoy. For that reason, I'm going to share  a unique combination of ingredients, which will end up a healthy version of a smoothie. All the nine days of navratri are devoted to Maa Durga and Maa Amba, Goddess of Shakti(Power). One of the best part about Navratri is Dandiya and Garba performed on evenings of Navratri. The dancers strike the sticks with their partners and dance in circular motion, to the rhythm of th emusic played in the background.. Oh my god, my legs started playing garba already.:), and yours too, right? Stop before you go to play Dandiya or Garba, pick up the glass of 'Pomegranate Pick Me Up' smoothie and get energy to play all night.

Also, #foodiemonday #bloghop and today's challenge is #smoothiemonday. How cool is that to celebrate #foodiemonday #bloghop #smoothiemonday with this navratri special.
